Most people would argue that Cyberpower CPS1215RMS is strictly for data center or office use because of its mounting brackets by the sides.
I would beg to differ.
Of the many Cyberpower surge protectors I have reviewed, I find that CPS1215RMS is really suitable for both home and office use.
Cyberpower CPS1215RMS can be for home use if you have the right equipment or server rack to house it properly. Most of them are even wall-mountable like this one.
CPS1215RMS comes with 1800 joules and that means it is able to withstand power surges or electrical transients coming from office equipment or household appliances. It is a flat 1U rack height and as I mentioned earlier, it can definitely be used at home if you have the right equipment rack for it.
Of course not every household will have a need for 12 outlets but if you do, this Cyberpower surge protector can be really a space saver when you house it together with other telecommunication equipment like Internet routers, broadband modem, network switches and so on.

Energy efficient
If your monthly electrical bill is on the high side, you should consider getting surge protectors that come with energy-saving features.
Joule Ratings
While it is definitely not a must to get surge protectors with high joules rating, it is still important to get one with a decent amount if you happen to stay in an area with frequent power issues or lightning.
